Fuerteventura just like Lanzarote posses little vegetation. It is a volcanic island in which green shines due to it´s absence, but just like the island of Lanzarote it also posseses other endemic species with great ecological value.

Thickets and lichen are the two plants that are most abundant on this island, just as the palm trees or cactus; plants that do not need abundant humidity to survive.
As to what the fauna is concerned, whales, marine birds and preybirds are what they have most of. Kestrels, bats, turtles, rabbits, dolphins and lizards also form part of their ecosystem.
