Leisurely activities in Fuerteventura are varied. It is a relatively small island that offers a great variety. From water sports like windsurf and kite surf or diving, to a peaceful afternoon at the movies, trekking routes around breathtaking locations, or even visit one of the themeparks on the island
The main leisure offer in Fuerteventura is more than 260km of beaches, in which the white sand is abundant, as well as the dark volcanic sand and golden beaches.
The north of the Island is known for practicing water sports such as windsurf, or surf due to it's strong winds that blow on that side of the island. On the contrary, if you do not want wind the beaces in the south, the ones in the locality of Pajara are a lot more tranquil in that aspect.
The nautical offer is also varied on the island, besides the sports mentioned earlier. Fuerteventura has the Puerto Deportivo de Corralejo (marina), a docking bay in the Isla de Lobos, a place to anchor out on in the northeast of the island on the south of the Montaña Roja, another marina in the capital Puerto del Rosario, a docking pier at the south of the Ensenada de Puerto Cabras, a marina in Las Salinas on the southeast of the island, a fishing port in Gran Tarajal and the Marina of Morro Jable, on the south of the island.
In case your interest is more focused on going to the movie theater, Yelmo Cineplex offers six auditoriums showing the latest films.
If what you would like is to get to know the island, there are various itineraries for those of you that enjoy trekking around the island, where you'll cover magical locations, volcanic zones, and you'll get to see the spectacular flora and fauna.
To have a great time you must also know that Fuerteventura has two theme parks, one directed towards the animals with a zoo inside to see the different species and an aqua park.
